Solutions for Bearing Housing Repairs - April 2014
Share this newsletter

How long does it take to repair or replace a bearing housing once it is oversized, wallered out or just plain damaged. Is it easy as going to the hardware store or do you have to wait a few days for the right part to be delivered? And what does it cost in downtime for your equipment to be out of service?

Bearings fail due to any number of causes:

  • Foreign matter
  • Improper Mounting
  • Bearing Misalignment
  • Improper Bearing Lubrication
  • Bearing Fatigue
  • Bearing Corrosion
  • Defective Sealing

And I’m sure there are a few other things that cause a bearing to fail.

Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) has been used for over 60 years in place of welding to rebuild component parts. This 2-part, paste grade epoxy can be used either by forming or machining techniques. I’ve attached a video that shows you how to do these repairs step by step.
